I am a
graduate of Fresno State University in California with a
Bachelor of Arts and Liberal Studies. I am an artist who
is thrilled to be able to work in the field of mosaics,
one of the most beautiful and ancient art forms. I am
inspired by artists such as Kirchner, Picasso and
Hundertwasser. While doing portraits, I work exclusively
with smalti, an ancient glass that is still hand made in
Venice, melted and re-melted to give it a depth that you
can not find with other materials. While creating
whimsical pieces that include colorful cities, animals
and abstracts, I work with materials such as stained
glass, mirror, vitreous tile and natural stone or
marble. Each of my pieces is guaranteed to be one of a
kind and gallery quality. I am captivated by the
brilliant colors, light and textures that can be
achieved with mosaic.
My work has been displayed at Opus Veritas, in the San
Francisco Art Museum, Museo ItalioAmericano. This was a
juried exhibition of International Mosaic Artist that
ran from January 15 to April 4th of 2004. I have work in
private collections around the country and have been
recently selected to be one of the 26 artists showing at
the VIVA Exhibition in Stratford, England.
I am a member of
SAMA,
BAMM, MBWCA and have been published in magazines and
newspapers.
